Nehemiah, in Nehemiah 5, demonstrates four practices of financial integrity. One, intercede for the poor rather than exploit them. Two, focus on what is right rather than what is legal. Three, follow through on commitments rather than merely making them. And four, be driven by a cause rather than by money. Nehemiah practiced these principles in the pursuit of his calling to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. To what purpose has God called you? Like Nehemiah, chase it with financial integrity. If money has distracted you, return to the purpose.
